Alongside the exhibit, discussions centred on how custom rope net structures could fit different venues and project requirements. Topics included available space, intended users, installation conditions and the relationship between play areas and surrounding visitor routes.
The meetings provided an opportunity for clients to explain their plans and for the Nets Tribe team to discuss relevant design considerations. For projects still at an early stage, the conversations helped identify the information needed for further evaluation, from site dimensions to the intended mix of active play and relaxation.
X-Node is a cocoon-inspired, handcrafted rope net installation designed to create a semi-enclosed space for pausing, resting and personal exploration. Its open weave maintains a visual connection with the surrounding environment while giving the user a sense of enclosure.
The name combines “X,” representing the unknown and individual possibility, with “Node,” referring to the connection points within a network. In the installation, each rope knot contributes to both the physical structure and the design’s theme of connection.

Rather than prescribing a single activity, X-Node invites users to define their own experience of the space. Its design explores how rope can serve not only as a material for play equipment, but also as a way to shape places for quiet interaction and rest.

At the exhibition, visitors could view the installation at close range, examine the hand-knotted surface and experience its relationship with the surrounding show floor.

X-Node illustrates one direction within Nets Tribe’s wider work in custom rope net design: combining handcrafted structures with the character and purpose of a space.
For hotels, resorts, parks and indoor leisure venues, the concept offers a starting point for discussing how a rope installation might complement existing activities or provide a place to pause. Any project-specific adaptation requires a separate review of the site, intended users, structural requirements and applicable safety standards.
Nets Tribe’s broader portfolio includes indoor and outdoor rope net playgrounds, climbing environments and suspended net spaces. These systems are developed around the requirements of individual projects rather than a single standard layout.

Nets Tribe (Binzhou Nets Tribe Co., Ltd.) is available throughout the exhibition to discuss site planning, custom rope net installations and project development. Visitors with upcoming projects can bring site photographs, dimensions or preliminary layouts to support an initial conversation with the team.
X-Node remains on display at Booth S3231 at ExCeL London through Sept. 24, 2026.
